I've played on both sides of it, and as fun as it is to just L1 spam some other L1 spamming Rivers player, it gets old pretty quickly. It was too oppressive and braindead to play against. Okay, so, to be fair, the old Stars of Ruin was pretty terrible to play against and needed to be nerfed in some way. As a result we get a tool that is still an upgrade to Star Shower (more stars and more total damage), but is in line with other Intelligence tracking tools and just has a different purpose. As Star Shower costs 23, 24-25 seems the fitting number. Bring its mana cost in line with these 2 as well - ADR costs 21, CS cost 18, so 20-25 Mana cost is reasonable. Even though they might seem similar after that, they would not be - ADR has slow moving projectiles with long lifetime and increased poise damage, being the pressure / distraction tool, Collapsing Stars pull enemy (which is not always what you want to do, especially if you play a ranged build) and Stars of Ruin would be the dps option with less poise damage than ADR and no pull compared to CS. Increase their range and tracking to match Ancient Death Rancor and Collapsing Stars. 9 stars would be in line with other upgraded tracking spells like Ancient Death Rancor and Collapsing Stars and would deal less total damage than current 12, but would be more viable in late-game, where basic resistances are high enough. Possible solution how to fix them in both PVE and PVP without making their spam overtuned in PVP again: - Reduce number of stars to 9 and slightly increase damage of each star. Note that increases in attack power are multiplicative unless stated otherwise. Use these Buffs to maximize the performance of Stars of Ruin. Patch 1.07 reduced its FP cost from 38 to 32, and its Stamina cost from 33 to 29. Version history: patch 1.06 significantly reduced its tracking capability.Has exactly the same range as Glintstone Stars and Star Shower. When faced against this spell, it is better to dodge into it, otherwise not all stars will be dodged. However, it does have significant tracking capabilities (even after the 1.06 nerf), and its stars can hit targets that run or dodge such as PvP opponents or enemies like Malenia. With its high FP cost and not that high damage, Stars of Ruin is not an efficient damage spell and is not recommended for low intelligence characters. This comes at the cost of a 15% increase to ALL sorcery costs Damage can be boosted by 15% by wearing Lusat's Glintstone Crown.Godfrey Icon would further increase its damage when charged. This sorcery can be charged to increase its damage by 30% at the expense of a longer cast time.Requires the Sellian Sealbreaker to get through arcane ward (Acquired during Sorceress Sellen Questline). Caelid: Given by Master Lusat when interacted with inside the Sellia Hideaway behind an arcane ward in the second pit. When Lusat glimpsed into the primeval current, he beheld the final moments of a great star cluster, and upon seeing it, he too was broken. This sorcery can be cast while in motion. ![]() Note that increases in attack power are multiplicative unless stated otherwise.Legendary sorcery devised by Lusat, primeval sorcerers.įires twelve dark shooting stars that pursue the target. Use these Buffs to maximize the performance of Star Shower. This increases the cast time slightly, but also increases the damage. This sorcery may be charged by holding the input. The good tracking also makes it an excellent choice in mounted combat, allowing you hit fast moving targets. This makes Star Shower excellent against enemies that typically dodge spells, like NPC phantoms. In addition, there is a slight delay between the cast time and when the projectiles begin moving. ![]() Star Shower has extremely good tracking, even at long ranges. The higher level and scaling you reach, the better results you will get out of this spell Star Shower, like many other multi-projectile spells, suffers in damage output in the early/mid game, due to the way absorption and defenses work.Due to the high FP costs it may be deemed unsuitable for explorations, but useful for special and planned encounters. A upgraded version of Glintstone Stars, with the same characteristics but inferior FP-to-damage ratio. ![]() This comes at the cost of a 15% increase in ALL sorcery costs
